Ways to Partner
Business, civic and non-profit organizations partner with Howard County public schools in any of three ways: human resources, in-kind donations, or financial resources. The opportunities to partner are as varied as the people and organizations involved.
Human Resources

- Tutor or mentor a single student or small group
- Mentor a high-school student via an internship or research project
- Provide work for special education students
- Serve on an advisory committee with quarterly meetings
- Conduct high-school mock interviews
- Judge student projects and presentations
- Share your expertise as a classroom guest speaker
- Speak to students about specific career fields and entering the workforce
In-kind Donations
Donate goods or services to a school or program.
- School drives (school supplies, food items, clothing)
- Student incentives (gift certificates, prizes)
- Staff refreshments for events, appreciation days
- Holiday support (gift cards, meals, gift items)
Financial Resources
Financial support through a donation to a school or the Howard County Public Schools Educational Foundation, Bright Minds. The Bright Minds Foundation’s mission is to enhance the educational experiences of all Howard County public school students by bringing together community support for academic initiatives and opportunities that increase education access, innovation, and equity.
