Benefits for HCPSS Retirees
HCPSS offers retiree health benefits – including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance — to employees who meet all of the following criteria:
- Have at least 15 years of cumulative service with HCPSS
- Retire through the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System
- Have been enrolled in each benefit (medical, dental, and/or vision) for at least one full year prior to retirement
Note: The one-year prior enrollment requirement is waived for married couples who both work for HCPSS, as long as the retiring spouse was covered under their spouse’s HCPSS plan at the time of retirement.
Email the HCPSS Retirement Office at hrretirement@hcpss.org or call (410) 313-7333 and select option 2.

Notice of Availability of Form 1095-C
Due to recent legislation to the Paperwork Burden Reduction Act, the HCPSS Benefits Office is informing staff of upcoming changes as to how 1095-C forms will be distributed. Form 1095-C provides information about the health insurance coverage HCPSS offered during the year.
Previously, HCPSS was required to automatically provide employees with Form 1095-C each year. As a result of changes in federal law, HCPSS is now only required to furnish the form to employees within 30 days if requested. This form is not required to file your taxes.
Staff can request the form by:
- Emailing benefits@hcpss.org
- Calling 410-313-7333
The Benefits Office will provide the Form 1095-C within 30 days of your request.
