Supplemental Benefit: Disability, Critical Illness, and Accident Insurance
HCPSS offers a range of income protection benefits through The Hartford to support employees in the event of unexpected health issues or injuries. These benefits include Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance, as well as Critical Illness and Accident Insurance. These programs are designed to provide financial assistance by replacing income or offering lump-sum payments during qualifying events, helping employees maintain financial stability during difficult times.
Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance
Short-term disability insurance provides temporary income replacement for individuals unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury, typically lasting up to 13 weeks. Long-term disability offers extended financial support when a serious illness or injury prevents a person from working for an extended period, often several months to years or longer.
