Clerical, Custodial Supervisor, Grounds, and Maintenance Positions

Entry Level Night Custodian (Full-time and Part-time) and Food Service Assistant Positions

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my application is complete?
Your application is complete when you have submitted all the required information and your reference surveys have been returned. You can check the status of your references by logging into your application. Go to the Reference Section. It will say “Received” and the date if the reference has been returned.
What if I have no recent work experience, how will I get a reference?
If you have not worked, we will consider references from a supervisor of volunteer experience or a recent teacher or other mentor. We cannot accept references from family, friends, coworkers or other personal references.
What if my education was outside the United States?
Entry Level Custodial, Food Service Assistant and Lunch/Recess Monitor applicants must upload a copy of your translated diploma or transcript. All other positions require an evaluated transcript from a foreign transcript evaluation service.
Can I send paper copies or email attachments of my education or other documents?
No, our application process is paperless. All application information must be uploaded so it is available for all reviewers of the application.
What if I am having trouble scanning/uploading my diploma?
Most public libraries have scanners available at no cost. An office supply store can also do this for you.
My application is complete, when will I hear from HCPSS?
What if I don’t have regular access to a computer?
Computers are available at most public libraries and the Maryland Workforce Exchange. All applicants are expected to have a valid email address that they will check regularly for correspondence from HCPSS.
