Human Capital Classification and Compensation

The Classification and Compensation team provides supports to all school system employees throughout the school system, of which over 5,400 are certificated. This team is responsible for accurately defining and evaluating the duties and responsibilities of all positions, and conducting compensation transactions and data analysis.

Human Capital Position Control, Staffing and Employee Credentialing

The Human Capital Position Control, Staffing and Employee Credentialing team is responsible and accountable for the oversight of all position management operations for the school system and maintaining position integrity. This team facilitates the Involuntary and Voluntary Transfer Processes for certificated and non-certificated staff, as well as assists in the identification of placements for all staff members returning from leaves of absence.

In addition, this team provides supports to over 5,400 certificated employees throughout the school system and is responsible for managing the certification process for all certificated staff.

Employee Services and Human Capital Programs

The Employee Services Team is responsible for processing leaves of absence, retirements, workers’ compensation claims, employment verifications, requests for ADA accommodations, and Fitness for Duty Assessments. The team is also charged with compliance of state and federal mandates related to criminal background checks, I-9 verifications, and HB486. Finally, the team manages personnel records, and unemployment claims.

The Benefits Team administers HCPSS healthcare benefits, including voluntary benefits, 403bTax Sheltered Annuity plans, 457b deferred compensation plan, and staff well-being services under EAP for employees, retirees and their dependents.
