The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future defines three distinct pathways for students to complete Post-CCR requirements. Pathways include a competitive entry college preparatory program, early college or dual enrollment program, or a career and technical education program.

Advanced Placement

Students can pursue college-level studies while still in high school through Advanced Placement (AP) courses. With qualifying AP exam scores, students can earn college credits, placement or both.

Dual Enrollment

Students can participate in dual enrollment via the JumpStart program, a partnership between HCPSS and Howard Community College, through which students may gain college credits, explore possible careers and earn an associate degree.

CTE

Students in middle and high school can take Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses that provide students with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training. In addition, HCPSS offers Career Academies that present a unique opportunity to prepare for college and entry-level employment in specific career areas.
