Grant Support Services

Grants are an important means of investing in classroom innovations, expansion of support and coordination of priorities. The Office of Grants is available to assist all sectors of HCPSS to generate grants. Per Policy 4000, grants are defined as funding from a government agency, foundation, corporation, or other external source that require a means of commitment for a particular purpose over a specific period of time. Grant awards can be unrestricted or restricted for a program, school, or district.

Available Supports

Support is available for all phases of the grants management life cycle, including:

  • Identifying and prescreening grant funding opportunities
  • Preparing and submitting a grant proposal or application, including: narrative, timeline, outcomes, and budgets
  • Receiving and managing grant funds, including award setup, spending funds, and tracking expenditures
  • Preparing reports and securing signatures
  • Monitoring compliance with foundation, State, Federal reporting

Prescreening Requirement

HCPSS employees must prescreen a grant opportunity to receive permission from their supervisor/principal and the HCPSS Grants Office via the Intent to Apply for a Grant Prescreening Form prior to the submission of any grant application.

School Based Grants

Grant awards to individual schools will be managed by the Principal, Principal’s Secretary (or Bookkeeper), and the Project Lead, with support from the HCPSS Grants Office. For more information, see: School-Based Grants: A Guide for HCPSS Schools.

NOTE: Grant awards $100,000.00 or higher require additional approval from Board of Education.
