Student KC Lay speaks about her college experiences while still being a student in the Howard County Public School System. Jumpstart is a partnership between HCPSS and Howard Community College to expand options for students to gain college credits, explore possible careers, or earn an associate degree.

(KC Lay) I would advise that it will be difficult at times and it will get frustrating, but it’s well worth it. And, you’ll get college experiences, while still being a full-time high school student. You’ll still get to hang out with your friends and you also don’t have to be the smartest person in your class, you don’t have to be the best in all of your classes. It’s fine if you’re not and you just have to be confident in your own abilities and this is a great opportunity.
