Position Overview

Start your career in IT as an IT Operations Apprentice! In this role, you’ll provide hands-on support for the installation, maintenance, and repair of technology equipment, helping ensure the smooth operation of essential infrastructure. Working alongside IT professionals, you’ll assist in resolving technology-related issues and learn how to troubleshoot and maintain devices. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to develop valuable technical skills while contributing to the overall support and functionality of technology systems. **Here are some of your key responsibilities:**

  • Technology Support: Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HCPSS infrastructure devices and appliances.
  • Issue Resolution: Work with various departments to identify and resolve technology-related issues and concerns, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Device Maintenance: Provide hands-on support in maintaining technology equipment, ensuring devices are updated and functioning properly.
  • Physical Labor: Perform tasks that may require climbing, walking, squatting, and lifting heavy loads (40 lbs. or more) to support equipment upkeep and installation.

The Essentials for Entry

  • Must be in Senior year of high school
  • Submit Application
  • Driver’s License Required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have 4 credits available in schedule for Apprenticeship courses, (ex. schedule: 1-4A or 4B, 5, & 6)
  • Class schedule not to exceed 3 credits including required English and Math to graduate

Your Apprenticeship Action Plan

  • Interview with Employer
  • Receive & Accept Employment Offer with Employer
  • Complete On-the-job-Training (20+ hrs a week minimum)
  • Complete Related Instruction (4+ hrs a week)
  • Complete year 1 of 2 year program (Preferential hiring for students currently enrolled in ARL Cybersecurity Academy)

  • Team Player: Works well with colleagues and other departments to resolve technology-related issues and ensure seamless operations..

Note: Completion of this apprenticeship program will earn you 3 credits for on-the-job training and 1 credit for related instruction, contributing to your graduation requirements.
