Summer Work
Students may have an opportunity to begin working in the summer between their junior and senior year.
Apprenticeship Maryland Program
During My Apprenticeship Program – Year 1 (H3) School to Apprentice
- Work part-time 5 mornings or afternoon per week
- Complete a minimum of 450 hours of On-the-Job Training (OJT)
- Complete HCC courses: Child Growth and Development (EDUC-111)and Methods and Materials in Early Childhood Education (EDUC-112)
- Complete HCPSS graduation requirements (Math and English)
Graduation
Apprenticeship Continues
Year 2
- Attend Year 2 at HCC
- Full-time Employment with 2,550 hours of On-the-Job Training
Program Complete
Lead Teacher
- $28,000-$42,000**
- Early Childhood Career Certificate
- 3,000 hours of OJT completed
- 480 hours of RI completed per year
- 32 College Credits Earned
