Summer Work

Students may have an opportunity to begin working in the summer between their junior and senior year.

Apprenticeship Maryland Program

During My Apprenticeship Program – Year 1 (H3) School to Apprentice

  • Work part-time 5 mornings or afternoon per week
  • Complete a minimum of 450 hours of On-the-Job Training (OJT)
  • Complete HCC courses: Child Growth and Development (EDUC-111)and Methods and Materials in Early Childhood Education (EDUC-112)
  • Complete HCPSS graduation requirements (Math and English)

Graduation

Apprenticeship Continues

Year 2

  • Attend Year 2 at HCC
  • Full-time Employment with 2,550 hours of On-the-Job Training

Program Complete

Lead Teacher

  • $28,000-$42,000**
  • Early Childhood Career Certificate
  • 3,000 hours of OJT completed
  • 480 hours of RI completed per year
  • 32 College Credits Earned
