Position Overview

This opportunity allows you to work in a positive, family-focused environment, ensuring that all residents receive the highest level of care and respect. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Resident Care: Assist the nursing staff with daily activities such as cleaning, bathing, and dressing residents, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Meal Assistance: Help distribute food trays and provide support with feeding, ensuring residents receive proper nutrition.
  • Positive Environment: Contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere, treating all residents with kindness and respect.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and charting, tracking the care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions.

The Essentials for Entry

  • Must be in Senior year of high school
  • Submit Application
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have 4 credits available in schedule for Apprenticeship courses, (ex. schedule: 1-4A or 4B, 5, & 6)
  • Class schedule not to exceed 3 credits including required English and Math to graduate.

Your Apprenticeship Action Plan

  • Interview with Lorien

  • Receive & Accept Employment Offer

  • Complete On-Boarding

  • Complete On-the-job-Training (20+ hrs per week)

  • Complete Related Instruction ( 4+hrs per week)

  • Obtain required vaccinations (Lorien Health Services must comply with Maryland regulations and maintain employee medical files. You must provide the following Vaccinations and Test Results prior to your orientation date.)

  • MMR: Measles Mumps & Rubella (titers test showing positive immunity is acceptable)

  • Varicella: Chickenpox (titers test showing positive immunity is acceptable)

  • Influenza: Seasonal Flu Vaccine must be administered annually. (September-March)

  • Tuberculosis Testing PPD Skin Test, Chest X-Ray or QuantiFERON-TB (PPD completed at facility)

  • COVID Vaccine (Must also have Negative results from a PCR COVID test)

  • TDAP – Tetanus / Diphtheria / Pertussis

Note: Completion of this apprenticeship program will earn you 3 credits for on-the-job training and 1 credit for related instruction, contributing to your graduation requirements.
