Summer Work

Students may have an opportunity to begin working in the summer between their junior and senior year.

Apprenticeship Maryland Program

During My Apprenticeship Program – Year 1 (H3) School to Apprentice

  • Work part-time 5 afternoons per week
  • Complete a minimum of 450 hours of On-the-Job Training (OJT)
  • Complete One Year of Related Instruction (RI)
  • Complete HCPSS graduation requirements (Math and English)

Graduation

Apprenticeship Continues

Year 2

  • Participate in Year 2 of the program
  • Full-time Employment with 750 hours of On-the-Job Training

Program Complete

Licensed Cosmetologist

  • $41,358-$57,747**
  • The Maryland Board of Cosmetology License
  • 1,500 hours of OJT completed
