Position Overview
Jump into the exciting field of steamfitting as a Steamfitter Apprentice! In this role, you’ll work with experienced professionals to learn the ins and outs of pipefitting, from cutting and measuring pipes to installing and joining various pipe systems. You’ll develop skills in organizing materials, installing hangers, and following safety protocols. **Take a look at some of your key responsibilities:**
- Pipe Cutting & Joining: Assist in cutting pipes and using various methods to join them securely, ensuring they meet industry standards.
- Pipe Measuring & Installation: Learn how to measure and install pipes with precision, supporting the layout and function of complex piping systems.
- Hanger Installation: Help install hangers and other support structures for pipes to ensure safety and stability.
- Safety & Organization: Follow safety guidelines closely while organizing tools, materials, and work areas for efficient job completion.
The Essentials for Entry
- Must be in Senior year of high school
- Complete OSHA 10 Training
- Submit Application
- Driver’s License Required
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have 4 credits available in schedule for Apprenticeship courses, (ex. schedule: 1-4A or 4B, 5, & 6)
- Class schedule not to exceed 3 credits including required English and Math to graduate
Your Apprenticeship Action Plan
- Interview with Pro Air, Inc.
- Receive & Accept Employment Offer
- Complete On-Boarding
- Complete On-the-job-Training (20+ hrs a week minimum)
- Complete Related Instruction (4+ hrs a week)
- Complete year 1 of 4 year program

- Team Player: Works effectively with experienced steamfitters and communicates well with the team to keep projects on track.
- Physically Capable: Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting materials, working with tools, and handling equipment in various conditions.
- Safety-Focused: Adheres to safety standards at all times to protect yourself, your team, and the worksite.
Note: Completion of this apprenticeship program will earn you 3 credits for on-the-job training and 1 credit for related instruction, contributing to your graduation requirements.
