Position Overview

Launch your career in the plumbing trade as a Plumbing Apprentice! Working under the supervision of licensed plumbers, you’ll learn the essential skills required to install new plumbing fixtures, repair pipes, and unclog plumbing systems. You’ll be trained to provide cost-effective, customer-focused, and high-quality plumbing services. This apprenticeship will equip you with the hands-on knowledge needed for a successful career in plumbing. **Here are key tasks you’ll be involved in:**

  • Plumbing Installation: Assist in installing new plumbing fixtures, such as faucets, sinks, and toilets, ensuring quality and functionality.
  • Pipe Repair: Support the team in repairing and replacing damaged pipes, contributing to the overall maintenance of plumbing systems.
  • Unclogging Systems: Learn how to efficiently unclog and troubleshoot plumbing issues in residential and commercial systems.
  • Customer Service: Work closely with licensed plumbers to deliver responsive, customer-focused service, ensuring that all plumbing solutions are high quality and cost-effective.

The Essentials for Entry

  • Must be in Senior year of high school
  • Complete OSHA 10 Training
  • Submit HCPSS & ABC Washington Application
  • Driver’s License Required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have 4 credits available in schedule for Apprenticeship courses, (ex. schedule: 1-4A or 4B, 5, & 6)
  • Class schedule not to exceed 3 credits including required English and Math to graduate

Your Apprenticeship Action Plan

  • Interview with ABC Plumbing
  • Receive & Accept Employment Offer
  • Complete On-Boarding
  • Complete On-the-job-Training (20+ hrs a week minimum)
  • Complete Related Instruction (4+ hrs a week)
  • Complete year 1 of 4 year program

Note: Completion of this apprenticeship program will earn you 3 credits for on-the-job training and 1 credit for related instruction, contributing to your graduation requirements.
