Summer Work

Students may have an opportunity to begin working in the summer between their junior and senior year.

Apprenticeship Maryland Program

During My Apprenticeship Program – Year 1 (H3) School to Apprentice

  • Work Part-time 5 mornings per week
  • Complete a minimum of 450 hours of On-the-Job Training (OJT)
  • Complete One Year of HACC Related Instruction (RI)
  • Complete HCPSS graduation requirements (Math and English)

Graduation

Apprenticeship Continues

Year 2

  • Attend Year 2 HACC Evening Classes
  • Full-time Employment with 2,000 hours of OJT

Year 3

  • Attend Year 3 HACC Evening Classes
  • Full-time Employment with 2,000 hours of OJT

Year 4

  • Attend Year 4 HACC Evening Classes
  • Full-time Employment with 2,000 hours of OJT

HACC Graduation

Journeyworker

  • $44,600–$77,643**
  • HVAC Technician Journey Worker License
  • 8,000 hours of OJT completed
  • 160 hours of RI completed per year of the program
  • 21-24 College Credits Earned (Howard, Harford, & Carroll Community colleges)
