Wilde Lake Middle School Ribbon Cutting/Open House, Jan. 8

November 30th, 2016

The Howard County Public School System will host two events to celebrate the closing of Wilde Lake Middle School (WLMS) and the opening of the new school facility. Members of the public are invited to participate in both activities.

The community said goodbye to the current school on December 12, 2016. That event included refreshments and an opportunity for community members to explore the historic Columbia landmark one last time before students move to the new school building on January 2.

The community will be officially welcomed to the new “Net-Zero” Wilde Lake Middle School at an open house on Sunday, January 8, 2017. The celebration will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m., followed by tours until 4 p.m., allowing parents and community members to explore the state-of-the-art learning environment at Maryland’s first net-zero school.

The January 8 ribbon cutting ceremony will be live streamed at http://www.hcpss.org/events/2017/wlms-opening.

For more information about these events, please call WLMS at 410-313-6957. Details about the new school building are available at http://www.hcpss.org/schools/net-zero-wlms.
