HCPSS Launches Telehealth Program

September 22nd, 2014

HCPSS officials joined local and state legislators, parents and students at Phelps Luck Elementary School this morning to debut the county’s telehealth program. The program links students who are ill or have minor injuries with physicians, parents and health care providers through advanced technology and Internet-based communication, and is designed to decrease absences and help students feel better sooner.

The telehealth initiative is part of the HCPSS new elementary school model, which launched last month to create an educational structure that nurtures the whole child through strength development, world language instruction, departmentalized curriculum and full-day pre-kindergarten.
