Start of Winter Athletics to Begin January 11, 2021

The winter athletic season, previously scheduled to start on January 4, 2021, is postponed until January 11, 2021. This will allow time following the winter break for staff to assess the current health environment and prepare for the return to athletics the following week.

Virtual athletics sessions will continue and online registration for winter athletics will remain open via HCPSS Connect. Directions can be found online.

On November 16, HCPSS originally made the decision to suspend all current in-person opportunities effective Thursday, November 19. Howard County continues to regularly remain above 5% COVID-19 test positivity rate and a case rate of more than 30 per 100,000. HCPSS will regularly monitor health metrics and update staff and the community the week following winter break.
