HCPSS Letter on Special Education Report

A letter from Acting Superintendent, Michael J. Martirano, Ed.D.

Dear HCPSS Community,

I have pledged to you to increase transparency and information sharing as a step toward strengthening trust in the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS). I heard your concerns related to a special education report created by the District Management Council (DMC).

This week, I met with staff and insisted on obtaining all reports produced by DMC. You will find all DMC documents in my possession now posted to the HCPSS Special Education web page. I also directed staff to request an electronic copy of the original DMC report from the consultant. That email correspondence is available online and I will ensure that any additional reports from DMC are added to our special education web page.

I am focused on serving all children well. I need your support to accomplish this goal and I want to invite you to join me in that effort.
