students play a class game Kindergarten Registration

Note: Any student who was born outside of the U.S. or needs ESOL services, should contact the International Student Registration Center at 410-313-1525 (Korean/English) or 410-313-7102 (Spanish/English).

Every child who is five years old by September 1 must be enrolled in a kindergarten program this fall, or have an approved waiver (see below).

Kindergarten registration for school year 2012-2013 begins February 27 through March 2, 2012. To register for kindergarten, children must be five years old by September 1. If you miss this week of registration, please contact your child's school to schedule an appointment. Children should be registered as soon as possible. School staffing is based on enrollment numbers and staffing can be adversely affected by late registrations.

HCPSS PreK to Kindergarten (Do I need to register my child?)

If your child is already enrolled as an HCPSS student in ANY prekindergarten program (RECC or other), you do not need to re-register your child for kindergarten. If your child is transferring to a new school, his/her records including: registration, immunization, health, and report card information, will be sent automatically at the end of this school year.

All of the elementary schools hold events in the spring or summer for incoming kindergartners. Please contact your child's school for more information.

How to Enroll Your Child

Early Admission

Some rare exceptions for early admission to Kindergarten may be made.
