Prevention Programs
Health education/promotion activities are conducted
in collaboration with other disciplines and promoted by:
- Individual and group programs/support groups for
students with chronic health problems such as
asthma, food allergies, diabetes, attention deficit
disorder, and eating disorders
- Individual and group programs fostering healthy
lifestyles through nutrition, exercise, self-care,
hand washing, safety and accident prevention, and
first aid
- Teaching concepts to prevent teen pregnancy,
sexually transmitted diseases, tobacco use, and
alcohol and substance abuse
- Health curriculum recommendations
- Health Life Style Promotion Program
- Safe and Healthy School Environment
- Emotional and Social Skill Developments
Maryland Children's Health Program
Free health care is available to children and
youth/adolescents under the age of 19 and pregnant
women of any age whose family income is within
certain limits.
