Graduation Requirements

The Maryland High School Diploma is awarded upon completion of 21 credits with the following coursework requirements:

4 credits - English Language Arts
3 credits - Social Studies (includes American Government)
3 credits - Mathematics (includes Algebra/Data Analysis and Geometry)
3 credits - Science (includes Biology)
1/2 credit - Physical Education
1/2 credit - Health
1 credits - Fine Arts
1 credits - Technology Education
1-3 credits - Electives

2 credits - World Language, OR
2 credits - Approved Advanced Technology sequence, OR
4 credits - State-approved Career and Technology Completer Program

Additionally, students must:

  • Pass all Maryland High School Assessments (HSA).
  • Satisfy Career Preparation requirements.
  • Satisfy the Student Service Learning requirement.
