HCPSS Students Named 2018 Carson Scholars

March 26th, 2018

Twenty-five HCPSS students in Grades 4–11, who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and humanitarianism, were named Mid-Atlantic Carson Scholars. The scholars will be recognized at the 22nd annual Carson Scholars Fund awards ceremony on Sunday, April 22, at Martins West in Baltimore.

Three HCPSS students were named first-time Carson Scholars, and 22 students will be acknowledged as Recognized Carson Scholars. Carson Scholars must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service. Recognized Carson Scholars have renewed their Carson Scholar status by maintaining high academic standards and a strong commitment to their communities.

Scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of academic achievement and humanitarian qualities, without regard to financial need, ethnicity, creed or religion. Carson Scholars receive a $1,000 college scholarship award, an Olympic-sized medal and a trophy for their school.
