Board of Education to Hold Public Hearing on Superintendent Search, September 28

The Howard County Board of Education will hold a Public Hearing on the search process for a permanent superintendent on Thursday, September 28, at 7 p.m., in the Boardroom at the Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City.

The Board invites the community to provide input on priorities regarding the superintendent search process during the Public Hearing or via email at boe@hcpss.org. Pre-registration is open until 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 27.

The Board voted on August 17 to begin the process of selecting a permanent superintendent, who will be appointed to a four-year term that will commence on July 1, 2018. Representatives from the Maryland Association of Boards of Education will present an overview of superintendent search services to the Board during its retreat on Tuesday, September 12.

Individuals may request a sign language interpreter for any meeting of the Board of Education by contacting Colleen Markiewicz, interpreter scheduler, at 410-313-7046. A two-week advance notice is preferred.
