New Board of Education Members Sworn in July 7

The Howard County Board of Education swore in two new members at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017, at a ceremony in the Boardroom at the Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City.

The Howard County Council approved Ananta Hejeebu’s appointment by the county executive at the Council meeting on July 3. Hejeebu will complete the term vacated by Christine O’Connor, and will serve through December 2018.

River Hill High School student Anna Selbrede was sworn in as the new Student Member of the Board. Selbrede will serve through the 2017–2018 school year.
