2017 Summer Planning

The school year is almost over and families are planning for the summer. Here are a couple things to keep you connected during that time:
Summer Food Service Program
Running from June 26–August 4, the HCPSS Summer Food Service Program will be available Monday through Friday at four locations:
- Harper’s Choice Middle School, 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
- Murray Hill Middle School, 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
- Thomas Viaduct Middle School, 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
- Stevens Forest Elementary School, 12:30–2 p.m.
Meals are free for all children ages 18 and under. There are no applications required. The full details are available online.
Summer reading lists developed by HCPSS library media specialists and Howard County Library System Children’s Instruction and Research staff are available for students in all grade levels and can be found online. Additional summer reading information also can be found on the HCPSS website.
Elementary English/Language Arts
The HCPSS Elementary ELA has a variety of resources available on the Canvas parent site:
Mathematics resources, websites and activities for students in all grade levels are available on the HCPSS Family Mathematics Support Center.
2017-2018 School Year
The 2017-2018 school year will begin for students Tuesday, September 5. All you need to know for the school year, including bus information, back to school nights, supply lists and more, will be available later this summer. Enjoy the break!
