Howard County Public School System Reorganization

June 16th, 2017

Howard County Public School System Acting Superintendent Dr. Michael J. Martirano has begun to take the mission-critical steps to examine the roles and functions of positions within the organization, and has designed a reorganization that does not adversely impact the school system budget or its commitment to fiscal responsibility.

The new organizational structure is a more responsive delivery model, and provides enhanced support for students, teachers, staff, parents and community members, to ensure solid academic achievement for all students. Several positions have been eliminated and/or reassigned in alignment with this new structure.

Dr. Martirano will provide complete details of the new organizational structure at the Howard County Board of Education meeting, on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 4 p.m.
