Mobile Science Lab to Visit Howard County Elementary Schools

The Maryland Agriculture Education Foundation Mobile Science Lab will visit three Howard County elementary schools over the next several weeks, beginning with a stop at Deep Run Elementary School in Elkridge on March 27.

The Mobile Lab is a unique learning environment that visits schools for an entire week and provides in-school field trips. The lab contains hands-on investigations designed around particular themes: water quality, wetlands, well contamination, the foods we eat, healthy snacks and environmentally friendly products.

Lessons on the lab allow students to hypothesize, experiment, collect data and draw conclusions following the scientific method. Up to five classes can visit each day for a 50-minute hands-on investigation. Other classes can visit for a 25-minute mini-lesson.
