Canvas Parent App Available Now!

Parents/guardians of middle and high school students can monitor their children’s progress, on the go, using the Canvas Parent app. With the app, parents can quickly check grades, review assignments and events, view course announcements, see a weekly calendar and set student activity alerts, such as missing assignments or grades above or below a set threshold. By swiping between profiles, parents can easily view information for all their children. 

To get started:

  1. Download the app from the iOS App Store or Google Play store.
  2. After opening the Canvas Parent app, select Log in with Canvas.
  3. Type Howard County Public Schools in the “Find your school or district” text field to be redirected to the HCPSS login page.
  4. After logging in, parents will be prompted to associate their children with their mobile Canvas account by entering their children’s login credentials.

Please note that the Canvas Student app (red/orange icon) does not show grades for parents. Parents/Guardians of middle and high school children should use the Canvas Parent app (blue icon) to view grades and assignments.
