Secure Innovations Helps Prepare Student for Cybersecurity Careers

The Applications and Research Laboratory (ARL), a Centralized Career Academy High School, is partnering with Secure Innovations to prepare students for a future in cybersecurity. The partnership will be formalized with an official partnership signing on Wednesday, December 7, at the Applications and Research Laboratory, 10920 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City.

Under the terms of the agreement, Secure Innovations will partner with the Early College Program in Cybersecurity Academy, a dual enrollment program with Howard Community College, to offer student internships and provide hands-on classroom demonstrations on topics such as Kali Linux, networking and network mapping, coding, and web app testing. Secure Innovations CEO Doug Jeruzal will also serve on the Cybersecurity Academy Advisory Board.

Jeruzal’s passion for assisting students pursuing cybersecurity education led him to establish the EnRich Minds Foundation. The Foundation will fund enriching and interactive experiences where students will apply their classroom knowledge to a variety of real world settings. An EnRich Futures Scholarship will be awarded to two high school seniors enrolled in a full load of college courses through the Early College Program in spring 2017. Aligned with Vision 2018, this partnership supports students exploring specific careers and provides authentic learning experiences to solve real-world problems.

ARL Principal Karl Schindler and Career Research Development Educator and Community Liaison, Early College Program in Cybersecurity, Laree Siddiqui will join Secure Innovations CEO Doug Jeruzal to sign the formal partnership agreement at the December 7 event.
