Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Oriole Advocates representatives will work with Dunloggin Middle School staff to conduct the Cardboard to Leather program. The Cardboard to Leather program collects and sends baseball equipment to schools, orphanages and community groups in countries with a scarcity of baseball equipment. The program provides opportunities for Challenger baseball teams to meet and play against other teams in similar programs. Aligned with Vision 2018, this partnership engages students in the learning process by providing authentic learning experiences to solve real-world problems.

Howard County Board of Education Members Sandra French and Griffin Diven, Dunloggin Middle School Principal Jeffrey Fink and Science Teacher Daniel Blue will join Oriole Advocates Cardboard to Leather Program Chairman Mike Licea, Senior Advisor Bob Harden and Senior Advisor Denis Kail to sign the formal partnership agreement at the October 10 event.

The Oriole Advocates is a group of diverse individuals from all walks of life who share a love for the game of baseball. The Oriole Advocates promotes and stimulates interest in baseball through its Cardboard to Leather and Oriole Advocates Challenger Baseball programs.
