School and System 2014-15 Performance Summaries Now Available

July 19th, 2016

School and system performance data reports for the 2014–2015 school year are now available on the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) website. The reports, recently compiled by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), summarize performance measures for the system and schools to provide comparisons with the state and to the prior school year.

“These reports provide a clear snapshot of the high quality education provided by each Howard County public school and the system,” said Superintendent Renee A. Foose. “These data serve as valuable reference points for staff, parents and community partners as we continue working together to sustain excellence and further strengthen our schools.”

The system report shows that HCPSS students on average significantly outperformed their state peers on state accountability measures including PARCC, MSA science and biology, and Alt-MSA assessments. Howard County also compares favorably with the state on other measures, including teacher qualifications and graduation rates.

Reports for individual schools provide comparisons to both the system and state. The test results reported are from the 2014–2015 school year. MSDE will announce PARCC results for the 2015–2016 school year in fall 2016.

The system report is available online at http://www.hcpss.org/about-us/research-data-analysis/#state-assessments. School reports are provided at http://www.hcpss.org/schools, and are identified as “MSDE performance report” under each school.
