The 11th annual Howard County Middle School Black Saga Competition will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Homewood Center, 10914 Clarksville Pk., Ellicott City. Students from participating Howard County middle schools compete in this academic challenge on African American history. After months of broadening their knowledge of African American history, the teams will compete against each other in a contest of their knowledge and skill. All of the teams will move forward to the state competition, to be held in March at Towson University, where they will compete against students from other school systems.

The district coordinator for the Black Saga Competition is HCPSS Curriculum Coordinator for Advanced Programs and Secondary Social Studies, Dr. Mark Stout.
