Specifically, Dr. Foose is being recognized for the Teachers for Tomorrow initiative, an innovative program to lift students from poverty, create a diverse and highly effective workforce, and help eliminate gaps in learning achievement. She is the only school system leader to be honored this year. This is her second Innovator of the Year award.

“It is an honor to be recognized alongside so many pioneering thinkers and doers,” said Dr. Foose. “I am very fortunate to work with education professionals dedicated to improving the lives of our students.”

Foose and the other Innovator of the Year honorees will be recognized at an awards celebration on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at The Center Club in Baltimore. All the winners will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the October 16 issue of The Daily Record.
