HCPSS Seeks Citizen Members for Policy Development/Revision Committees

HCPSS invites citizens to take an active role in developing and revising school system policies as members of policy development/revision committees. Community stakeholders serve a vital function on each committee by sharing diverse knowledge, experiences and perspectives, and ensuring transparency at every stage of the policy development process.

Each committee typically meets 4–5 times to discuss and make policy recommendations regarding educational programs and school system operations. Each policy committee will include one member representing the General Citizens stakeholder group.

For the 2015–2016 school year, HCPSS is currently seeking candidates for membership on the following policy development/revision committees:

Policy 1020: Sexual Discrimination
Policy 2040: Public Participation in Meetings of the Board
Policy 3040: Technology Security
Policy 4090: Debt Management
Policy 8030: Graduation Requirements
Policy 8080: Responsible Use of Technology and Social Media
Policy 9030: Student Publications and Productions
Policy 9060: Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Compliance: Section 504
Policy 10010: Distribution and Display of Materials and Announcements
Policy 10040: Charter Schools
