HCPSS Ranked Maryland’s Best School System by Niche.com

January 23rd, 2015

HCPSS has been ranked the top public school district in the state of Maryland, according to a report released this week by Niche.com, an education and community analysis firm.

The system received a grade of A+ overall, with marks of A or higher for academic rigor, educational outcomes, student diversity, and quality of teachers. Rankings are based on a mathematical formula that factors government and public data sets, Niche’s proprietary data, and survey responses from students, alumni, and parents.

“These rankings substantiate our Vision 2018 strategies for providing an inspiring, engaging learning environment that fosters success for every child,” said HCPSS Superintendent Renee A. Foose. “This data is a testament to the quality of our excellent teachers, instructional program, and committed stakeholders.”

Eight HCPSS schools were listed among the top 20 public high schools in Maryland, and Marriotts Ridge High School was singled out as the top high school in the Baltimore Metro region.

The complete rankings are available on the Niche website.
